Job Description: POSITION PURPOSE:
The Pharmacist works under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager to assist in Store Pharmacy operations.



KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Responsible for helping the store pharmacy operations achieve their planned business objectives

  • All activities related to the preparation, dispensing and sale of prescription and pharmacy related products

  • Pharmacists will be required to actively participate in the Pharmacy Care program, including administering immunizations. This includes successful completion of APHA immunization training or its equivalent

  • Assist in the operation of assigned Pharmacy which includes World Class Customer service, sales, gross margin improvements, inventory purchasing and management, expense control and staff issues

  • Partner with management in developing and implementing store programs to help meet sales objectives and increase prescription volume

  • Provide the Pharmacy Manager updates on Pharmacy operations

  • Understands and complies with Best Practice Standards and execution by pharmacy staff when Pharmacy Manager is absent

  • Ensure compliance to all local, state, federal laws, and company policies and procedures

  • Aid in the training and development of retail pharmacy staff

  • Confront complex pharmacy operational issues with situation specific business solutions


KNOWLEDGE:
Education Level:
  • Degree in Pharmacy required (B.S. or Pharm. D.)

  • Licensed pharmacist in state where working

Experience, Skills and Background:
  • Knowledge of laws governing OTC drugs, pharmacy products and third party plans

  • Customer relations skills including meeting customer needs and establishing a World Class Service environment

  • High degree of initiative and accuracy

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete work with a minimum of supervision under rigid time constraints

  • Demonstrates sound business ethics

  • Working knowledge of computer including Microsoft office, Access, Excel, and Word

  • Detail oriented with ability to prioritize work

  • Capability to effectively understand customers and employees inquiries

  • Interpersonal skills including building relationships and conflict resolution

  • Ability to work different schedules to meet store and customer needs
